Maybelline: Shocking Coral lipstick

Hey guys!

Bright lips have always been something I've loved. A vibrant pink or a juicy orange are colors that automatically make you feel perkier and look gorgeous with winged liner and mascara. So with that in mind, I took a gander at Maybelline's new Vivids line. The colors, as the name might suggest, are vivid.  Like seriously bright and all beautiful.

The wear time is alright, about 3 hours if you don't eat or drink anything. It'll leave a slight pinky stain when you go to take it off but that's to be expected from a color so bright.

Any colors that you guys love for spring?

L'oreal: The Palace Life

Hey guys!

With spring being upon us and all, the nail trends are abundant. One that pops up every spring is the pastel look.  L'oreal has launched a whole collection called "Versailles Romance" - not to be confused with the polish of the same name from last year's spring collection.

The colors range from powder blue to mint green to the one I bought, an opaque pink called The Palace Life. Cute name, cute color, slightly shimmery. Just not for me. It was so bubblegum pink-y that on my tanned skin, it made me look like Malibu Surf Barbie. It was just not meant to be.

It would look absolutely beautiful on lighter skin tones or maybe layer with another color.

Warm bodies!

Every once in a while, there comes a book or movie that gets me ridiculously excited. In this case, the book AND movie got me hyperventilatingly happy. When I saw the cover for Warm Bodies a couple of years ago, I knew that it was going to be a favorite. And it was. I loved everything about the book and I still skim through it every once in a while. So when I realized that they were making a movie based on the book, I couldn't contain my glee. I'd literally watched the trailer everyday for the past several months.

The movie doesn't really follow the book since it's a zombie rom-com and the book is more "intellectual", I guess. In the book, R is still funny but in a more philosophical way.  Basically what happens is that there is a zombie apocalypse and barely any humans left, so the ones that are left live in a stadium with armed guards to keep the zombies out. Julie (Teresa Palmer) is part of Security and along with her boyfriend, Perry, best friend, Nora and a bunch of other Security people, venture out into the zombie ridden city in search of medicine. R (Nicholas Hoult), with his friend M and their dead-undead assemblage are also in the city looking for food. They come upon the Security group and start eating everyone in sight. R knocks down Perry and begins to eat his brain and something unusual happens so instead of eating Julie, like a normal zombie would, R decides to save her and takes her back to the zombie lair.

The rest of the movie is R trying to keep Julie safe and Julie trying to escape while her General father is out looking for her and R's zombie group is trying to eat her. The movie is absolutely hilarious and a fun spin on Romeo and Juliet. The casting was perfect as well with the actors being able to do the zombie acting amazingly. Maybe not the best one for kids since there are some creepy bits but a great date night movie.

Weekend fun: Bradenton

Hey everyone!

This past weekend we went to Bradenton, Fl to visit a friend who recently bought a house close to the water. I'd only been to a beach on the Gulf of Mexico once before and didn't remember how green the water is.

So pretty. And that jet ski was so tempting since someone just left it there... tsk tsk.

Hostess and Friends

After lunch by the water,  (this lady had let her Great Dane run amuck where it proceeded to steal food from a picnicking family), we went sight seeing on Anna Maria Island where we found this cute little coffee/ antique shop called Ginny and Janie's.

Such a heavy cake dome. You'd have to desperately want a piece of cake to even want to open it

Jellyfish and starfish Christmas ornaments.

(How weird is this thing?! I loved it!!)

Hope you guys had a good weekend!
